ADMISSION CRITERIA

  1. Completion of a minimum of 42 semester hours with a 2.50 grade point average for any work completed through WMU.
  2. Development and maintenance of a Student Portfolio (Required for those starting after Fall 2001 - those starting before should meet with Business Department Faculty for assistance) Visit WMU's web site for examples.
  3. Registration with Career Services at WMU.
  4. Completion of Pre-Business Curriculum listed below. Starred classes (*) must be 2.0 or better. (ECO 201 - Macroeconomics, ACC 122 - Accounting Principles II, and MKT - 201 Principles of Marketing are also requirements of the program, but are not pre-admission requirements. They may, however be prerequisites to later courses so should be taken as soon as possible.):
    • ACC 121 - Accounting Principles I ( 2.5 grade is required for the Accountancy major)
    • CIT 100 - Computers in Business
    • ECO 202 - Microeconomics
    • ENG 111 OR ENG 112 - English Composition
    • PSY 101 OR SOC 101 - Intro to Psychology OR Intro to Sociology
    • BUS 101 - Intro to Business
    • MTH 131 - Probability and Statistics
    • MTH 140 - College Algebra and Trigonometry
      NOTE: MTH 121 College Algebra and MTH 122 Trigonometry OR MTH 140 College Algebra and Trigonometry (Pre-Calc) are pre-requisites for MTH 141. Do not take only MTH 121 at NMC as WMU does not offer a stand-alone Trig class and you will have to take Pre-Calculus at WMU (thus repeating the content of MTH 121).

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

Completion of the BASIC requirements as listed at NMC will fulfill most of the general requirements at WMU. WMU requires two additional General Education courses at the 300-400 level to be taken at WMU. Upon request at the NMC Records Office, a statement will be placed on your transcript, "MACRAO AGREEMENT SATISFIED".
