Proud Fact
The NMC Foundation, thanks to local donors, offers more scholarship dollars to more students than any community college in Michigan.
"At NMC, I have the opportunity to work in state-of-the-art labs and work with instructors who actually work in their industries."
Dale Peterson
International Students
Each year, NMC welcomes about 35 international students to its campuses. We are a two-year community college, providing the first two years of an undergraduate bachelor’s degree as well as a variety of occupational/career programs. You will find “Programs of Study” and “Course Descriptions” in our catalog. These also contain information about NMC’s Aviation-Pilot Training Program, which leads to an Associate in Applied Science Degree.
NMC enrolls approximately 4,500 students at its three Traverse City campuses. We encourage the application of students from other nations who show promise of profiting from their educational opportunities and experiences in the United States.
We look forward to supporting you and provide the following services:
- Let us know your arrival time at Cherry Capital Airport (TVC) and you will be met by a representative from NMC.
- Approval for on-campus employment
- Community and cultural orientation
- Assistance with obtaining visas, optional practical training, and with transferring to 4-year colleges and universities.
