Applicants with prior or pending misdemeanors, felonies or legal expungements will be prompted to submit additional information. Backgrounds must be adjudicated by the Maritime Admissions Office.
Academic placement is determined by transferable college credits, ACT/SAT scores (if less than 5 y ears old) and/or placement testing
Applicants must meet the United States Coast Guard physical standards and all requirements for licensing as a United States Merchant Marine Officer, as established by federal law. NOTE: This is not a active duty military physical.

Official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended
Two letters of recommendation with contact information
If Veteran, Undeleted DD214, Armed Services Discharge Report
Admitted students must complete a visit. Applicants will be able to register for a visit with their Admission Representative once their application is complete. It is up to the applicant whether to complete the visit before or after and admission decision is received.
