Law Enforcement Degrees and Certificates

If you are looking for an exciting and rewarding career that allows you to serve your community, Law Enforcement is an excellent choice.

Northwestern Michigan College offers a pre-service track program designated by the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) for students interested in becoming police officers.

Students who successfully complete the Police Academy (year two of the course sequence guide), are eligible to take the MCOLES Licensing Exam.

MCOLES Reading and Writing Test

  • 9–11 a.m. (arrive at  8:30 a.m.)
  • James Beckett 217 (NMC Main Campus)

Pre-Enrollment Physical Fitness Test

  • Noon–3 p.m.
  • NMC Gymnasium (P100) Main Campus
