Online Learning Options
NMC offers both courses and programs online. Courses range from completely online to online with proctored testing to a blend of online and on-campus delivery (Hybrid). Courses are accessed using NMC's learning management system (LMS), Canvas.
Learning Options
Courses at NMC are offered in the following formats:
Lecture courses:
Lecture courses occur face-to-face in an on-campus environment. Instructors use Canvas for the course syllabus and gradebook or other resources to supplement instruction.
Online courses:
Online courses do not require class meetings. Students are responsible for logging in to Canvas to complete assignments and activities by specific dates. Licensed testing center proctored exams may be required. Please refer to the special instructions on the schedule for the course for more information.
Hybrid courses:
Hybrid courses combine online, livestream, and/or lecture delivery methods and reduce the number of required course meetings by moving some course activities to Canvas. Scheduled course meetings are held face-to-face or through Zoom. Licensed testing center proctored exams may be required. Please refer to the special instructions on the schedule for the course for more information.
Livestream courses:
Livestream courses meet during a regularly scheduled time via Zoom. Canvas is used to distribute materials, submit assignments, track grades, and share feedback. Licensed testing center proctored exams may be required. Please refer to the special instructions on the schedule for the course for more information.
