It’s more than a new look. It’s a shared strategy that positions NMC to thrive in a changing world.

We listened carefully—to students, employees, alumni and our community. We also looked outward—at competitors, trends and challenges in higher education. This new brand brings it all together to help us attract students, build partnerships and strengthen the value we deliver to the region.

  • Why a new brand — and why now?

NMC has grown in powerful ways. With new programs, deeper partnerships and a stronger focus on student success, we needed a brand that could match that momentum.

We didn’t guess. This strategy was built from research, competitive analysis, and input from over 600 voices in our community in an 18-month process. It’s designed to make NMC stand out, tell our story more clearly, and support enrollment, funding and community connection in the years ahead.

  • Frequently Asked Questions

    • Why did NMC update its brand?

      • For years, our brand centered on NMC’s proud history. But NMC has grown in powerful ways. This refresh helps us better reflect the incredible work happening across the college, from aviation to apprenticeships, from student success to skills training.
      • Also, higher education has grown more competitive and faces demographic challenges in the future. Our new brand helps NMC speak with one voice, focus on what sets us apart, and attract the students, partners, and resources that will ensure we remain here to serve the community for years to come.
    • How much did it cost?

      • The strategy work was funded by a $100,000 Lumina Foundation grant. NMC is now phasing in implementation over three years to manage costs. Some updates, like painting and signage, were already overdue and are being bundled efficiently and purposefully.
    • How will it benefit students and the region?

      • A strong brand is an asset, just like NMC’s human resources and campus buildings. It is in everyone’s interest to achieve a strong brand that will help attract the students, partners and resources that will ensure we remain here to serve the community for years to come.
    • What’s next?

      • You’ll see the brand come to life through signage, communication and digital channels starting in August 2025. Future phases will be informed by our next strategic plan, now in development and scheduled to start in 2026.
      • The entire brand rollout will take three years, so some of the former visuals will be around for a while.
