Veterans Day ceremonies

TRAVERSE CITY — Northwestern Michigan College invites the campus and community to attend its annual Veterans Day ceremonies beginning at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11. The ceremony will include:

  • 9:30 a.m. - Faculty, staff, students and community members gather at flagpoles west of Tanis Building. (In the event of inclement weather the event will be held in the Osterlin Building.)
  • 9:40 a.m. - VFW and Metro Honor Guard enter
  • 9:45: Opening remarks and acknowledgments
  • 9:55: Guest speaker Jack Segal, U.S. Army veteran and retired senior U.S. diplomat
  • 10:15 a.m. - Flag raising ceremony 
    • 3 volley salute
    • "Taps" followed by "The Star-Spangled Banner" performed by the Traverse City Central High School Band

Coffee and doughnuts will be provided for all veterans before the ceremony in the Osterlin Building.
