Annual Events

NMC hosts many annual events on campus as well as at other community locations, including:

Spring

Summer

  • Kids Free Fishing Day – Held on a June Saturday at the Great Lakes Campus. See a photo gallery »
  • Aviation Fly In – July benefit for Aviation Division held in conjunction with National Cherry Festival
  • NMC Scholarship Open – Northern Michigan's premier golf tournament, held every August to raise scholarship funds. Learn more »

Fall

  • Mike McIntosh Memorial Truck & Car Show – A September event benefiting the Automotive Department. Learn more »
  • Great Lakes ~ Great Chefs Dinner – An annual showcase of the region's cuisine and chefs. Learn more »
  • Traverse Bay Area College Night – Held in October, a chance for area high school students to meet with representatives from more than 50 colleges and universities
  • Mariners Memorial Service – Typically held Nov. 10 at the Great Lakes Maritime Academy
  • Veterans Day Tribute – Held on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, unless Veterans Day falls on a weekend, when it is held on the nearest weekday

Winter

  • A Taste of Success (formerly Tasters' Guild Tasting Event & Auction) – A benefit for the Great Lakes Culinary Institute featuring international cuisine. Learn more »
