Join us for our 75th anniversary!

January 1–December 31, 2026

In 2026, Northwestern Michigan College will mark 75 years of learning, growing, and serving this community we’re proud to call home.

From the start, NMC has grown right alongside northern Michigan. When our students succeed, our region succeeds. When local families and employers thrive, so do we. That connection is at the heart of who we are and why we’re celebrating this milestone together.

Throughout the year, we’ll host events that bring people together to honor our shared story and look ahead to what’s next, including three big celebrations:

  • April 25 – Student & Community Block Party
  • July 25 – History Walk
  • September 19 – Founders Day Celebration

These gatherings are about more than marking time. They are a thank-you to the neighbors, partners, and supporters who have made 75 years of NMC possible and who continue to shape our future.

I’m grateful to be part of this community and excited for what lies ahead. Here’s to 75 years of shared success, a lasting legacy we can all be proud of, and the bright future we’re building together.
