Writing & Reading Center

The Writing & Reading Center (WRC) is part of NMC's Communications Division and offers peer assistance with all types of writing at all stages of the writing process. You'll receive help with:

  • Invention/Outlining
  • Drafting
  • Revision
  • Organization/Coherence
  • Source integration
  • Citation/Documentation
  • Grammar/Punctuation
  • Reading comprehension of sources used

Help is available for all types of writing, including:

  • Class papers
  • Cover letters for jobs
  • Personal statements
  • Creative writing

The Writing Center (WRC) is open for the Fall 2023 semester, Sept. 5-Dec. 15, 2023 in SH 221.

WRC sessions can be in-person or Zoom. They are typically scheduled for 30 minutes, but the meetings can last from 20 minutes up to to an hour, as desired by the student scheduling. Contact Us for questions about how to schedule/what to bring to the appointment.

NMC students can self-schedule an appointment via MySuccess. Walk-ins are also accommodated during our M-F weekday hours in Scholars Hall 221, and Sunday 3-8pm weekend hours in the NMC Library Reading Room. To book an advance appointment (or to see if there's walk-in availability), you can check the calendar in MySuccess or call us. Otherwise, contact us (via phone or email) during our M–F weekday business hours.
