NMC Grand Traverse Chorale

The NMC Grand Traverse Chorale is a mixed-ensemble (SATB) offered for credit and non-credit through NMC Extended Educational Services. Membership is through an interview, by phone or by appointment, with Director Jeffrey Cobb. The GTC performs a minimum of two concerts each semester and frequently performs with the Traverse Symphony Orchestra. The GTC rehearses on Monday nights from 7:30-9:30 PM.

important 2017-2018 dates

  • November 3 - GT Chorale and Chamber Singers share the stage with soloists Laura Osgood Brown (soprano) and Keith Brown (Bari/Bass) along with a string orchestra! Repertoire includes: RVW's "Serenade to Music" and "Five Mystical Songs," Beethoven's "Elegischer Gesang," Mozart's "Regina Coeli K108," and the music of Thompson, Clausen, Whitacre and others!
  • December 15-17 - GT Chorale and Chamber Singers participate in the Dan Forrest Festival, working and performing with the composer! Repertoire to be announced - stay tuned!
  • January 15 - rehearsals restart!
  • February 23 - GT Chorale and the NMC Concert Band in Concert. Repertoire to be announced - stay tuned!
  • April 22 - GT Chorale and Chamber Singers with the TSO in Concert (Corson) Baroque Concert - repertoire will include Handel's "Zadok the Priest" and Vivaldi's "Gloria!"
