Proposing an Innovative Campus Idea

Pitch Or Grant Competition
Individual or group: Have an innovative idea that would benefit NMC and contribute to the college's strategic efforts.
Review Request for Proposals (RFP) and attend an optional information session.
Get approvals from VP, Chair, and leadership of collaborating units to proceed with the idea. If it is a tech idea, get approval from the Chief Tech Officer. Incorporate feedback.
Submit an application outlining the NMC strategies and objectives the idea pertains to.
PITCH COMPETITION
Applications that do not meet the required criteria, have not received necessary approvals, or have not stayed within budget will not proceed.
The application will be forwarded to RFP reviewers for initial scoring.
Top-scoring applicants will be notified that they are moving forward to the pitch competition.
Individuals who will be pitching will submit their presentation in advance for review by the judges.
Finalists will pitch, outlining how their project will contribute to strategic efforts, what resources are needed, what their financial goal is, and how the project will be sustained in the long term.
Pitch judges will select who to award and how much to award.
GRANT SUBMISSION
The application will be forwarded to strategy leads for review. The strategy leads will determine whether and, if applicable, how much to award.
Award notifications, program agreements, budget templates, and next steps will be emailed to awardees.
Projects will be implemented, receipts will be submitted for reimbursement, and intermittent progress reports and final summaries will be completed.
Determine if long-term sustainability is required, or if this should be phased out. If sustainability is the goal, determine the best method and the appropriate home unit.
