Adjunct Salary Schedule and Contact Hour Rates
Adjunct instructors are placed on an initial step based on their education and related experience following the credentialing standards of the Higher Learning Commission.
Movement on the scale will occur in August if the adjunct faculty taught during the previous academic year.
Adjunct pay is calculated by multiplying the number of contact hours for each course taught by the rate of the applicable step. For example:
BIO 106 Human Biology 4.0 Credits (5.0 Contact Hours)
Adjunct at Step 5: 5 X $750.00 = $3,750.00
Note: The number of credits to the student may not be the same as the number of contact hours. Both credits and contact hours are listed for each course in NMC's Catalog and Schedule of Classes.
**Please note that the schedule moved from 20 steps in January to 15 steps in August. The gray column shows the crosswalk to the new/current schedule in yellow.
