Spaces & Equipment
The library has a range of study spaces, including alcoves, study rooms, work tables, and a reading room with a wall-length fireplace.
Study rooms TJNIC 207, TJNIC 208, and TJNIC 209 can be reserved by NMC students and employees, as well as University Center students with a student ID. Bookings can be made in 30-minute blocks for a total duration of up to two hours. Make sure you are logged in to your NMC Google account or your university email (for UC students) when making your booking.
Each room has a maximum capacity of four people, and is equipped with whiteboards, outlets, and TV screens that can be connected to via HDMI cables (available at the library service desk).
Study room TJNIC 209 is adjacent to the Owl's Nest, a space designed for your children to work and play while you are in the library. This study room is prioritized for students accompanied by children. Please look for Study Room TJNIC 209 when making your reservation. If this room is already reserved, you are welcome to book another. When you arrive, if it is being used by a student who is not accompanied by a child, we will swap the room reservations to accommodate if possible.
More information on study room reservations is available on the NMC Library Study Room FAQ.
Public computers, printers and copiers are also available (see our Policies page for more details).
Parking & Public Transportation
There are metered visitor parking spaces in the Cedar Lot in front of the Innovation Center. The college also is served by the Bay Area Transportation Authority (BATA).
Accessibility
The library provides accessible study spaces, meeting rooms, restrooms, and computer workstations in accordance with ADA guidelines. Additional equipment and accommodations for students are available through NMC's Tutoring and Support Services.
