
Pre-Nursing Program Checklist for Success
- Apply for admission to NMC at nmc.edu/apply-now — indicate either the Pre-Associate Degree Nursing Program, Pre-Practical Nursing Program, or Pre-Associate Degree Nursing Completion Option (requires a current MI Practical Nursing license). All nursing programs require a secondary admission.
- NMC's major clinical partner is Munson Health Care in Traverse City, Michigan.
- Transfer student from a Michigan college or university? Check how credits transfer to NMC at mitransfer.org.
- If you have attended another nursing program, a Letter of Good Standing from your previous Director of Nursing must be submitted to Betsy Boris, Director of Nursing & Allied Health, at bboris@nmc.edu.
- Request official transcripts to be sent to the Admission’s Office at NMC (High School, GED, and/or any accredited college):

- Create a FSA I.D. for FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) at studentaid.gov.
- Apply for FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) at studentaid.gov/fafsa.
- Sign up for New Student Orientation at nmc.edu/orientation. In addition to an information meeting, you will meet with an advisor and register for classes. Returning students do not need to attend orientation again.
- Review the Health Occupations website at nmc.edu/nursing for specific nursing program criteria.
- Be sure to check your NMC email regularly for important information regarding admission requirements, financial aid, the nursing program and more.
- Purchase books and get ready to start classes. Welcome to NMC!
